Removing visual cues with HOFA 4U+ BlindTest

This unique comparison system helps you use your ears… not your eyes!

-

1 Load 4U+ BlindTest on all tracks you want to compare, after any insert effects. All instances ‘talk’ to each other – open one, and all BlindTest tracks populate the list. Select Settings >> Compensate to automatically adjust levels. Analyse your audio, then punch Compensate to match levels.

2 To compare tracks, simply click Start. This randomises the order of playback, and hides track names. We can now judge each signal in turn, without knowing which is which. There are two modes: Single and Series. We use the latter here, and give each entry a star rating out of five.

3 Let’s now reveal what we’re hearing. Click on the Solo button, track number or arrows to move through the list. To remove tracks, drag them to the inactive list below – these entries can still be selected manually if needed. Once done, hit Stats to reveal your scores alongside the track names.
