7. Getting to know Scenes

-

1 Let’s build up some Scenes. Increase the track tempo to 128bpm for a sprightlier feel, which will better suit the tempo of the clips we’ll be dragging in. They don’t need to match exactly – Bitwig Studio will knock ’em into line. Start by dragging CR_120 12.aif into the Clip Launcher just below our MIDI clip.

2 We still only hear our MIDI clip when we engage the transport. We can click the Play button on our new clip in the Clip Launcher – or, alternatively, the play button next to where it says Scene 1 at the top. Let’s go ahead and try that. Hey presto – both of our clips play in sync!

3 Right-click Scene 1 and copy it, then right-click Scene 2 and paste the copied Scene into Scene 2. Likewise, copy it into Scene 3. Next, we drag the clip called Wersi_130 5.aif into a new Track in Scene 2 and copy it to Scene 3 as well. Finally, we’ll add the TS130_GuitCMaj_3. aif loop into Scene 3.
