19. Advanced modulation with Containers
1 We played with modulation in our earlier tutorials, but Bitwig Studio 8-Track’s modulation takes on new dimensions when used within Containers. We’ll look at our Chain Container. It’s set to Show Modulators, though there are no Modulators being used… 2 Click on the top + in the Chain Container and choose a Classic LFO Modulator from the expanded Browser. Click the arrow in the lower Modulator display to assign it. The Modulator destinations aren’t limited to the Chain Container, but include everything in it. 3 We lash our LFO to our Comb filter’s Frequency, as well as our Filter’s Cutoff Frequency. Drop the LFO’s rate to 0.10Hz. While we’re at it, we’ll drop in a second LFO and tie it to, say, the Filter Device’s Resonance. Once we’ve got something we like, save it all as a Chain preset.
