Dronar Rolling Percussion £60

The 12th in the Dronar series of Kontakt instruments isn’t what you think: the sampled percussion in the title – orchestral bass and snare drums, tom toms, timpani, gongs, cymbals, angklung, xylophone, balafon and more – has been captured as a collection of rolls, mixed with a rich library of ‘guitarscape’, synth and string loops (4GB of samples in total), then processed, arpeggiated and modulated using the powerful four-layer (two samples per layer) engine. The rolls add an interesting new textural dimension to Dronar’s pads and ambiences that we rather like. timespace.com
