Three ways to use this issue’s free Bomb Factory samples

-

1 This month’s sample pack is full of one-shot impacts. These sounds usually work best when placed on the first beat of your intro or breakdown section. Hunt down a sample that fits the vibe of your track – generally, stark blasts suit intense club tracks, while subtle noise hits slot into more laid-back tunes.

2 Booming impact sounds can be used to create unique rising sweeps or ‘uplifters’. Simply reverse your one-shot sample, then position the audio so that it leads perfectly into the first beat of your drop. If the sample is short, you can use your DAW’s timestretching function to lengthen the riser.

3 To create the perfect ‘sweep into drop’ for your track, combine our previous two steps and seek out two complementary samples – eg, a deep, sucking riser winding up into a noisy, splashy impact. If needed, coat the two sounds in a uniform reverb to help them sit in the same acoustic space.
