Zynaptiq are responsible for some of the most technologically and conceptually impressive plugins around, and Intensity is their best yet. Built, bizarrely, on a facial recognition algorithm, it’s a mixing and mastering processor, described as an “infinite-band compressor that threshold-less-ly operates relative to the input signal”. Strap it over anything – tracks, buses, full mixes – and raise the Intensity parameter to increase the levels of signal elements deemed “details”, improving the sound in presence and dynamics to an often jaw-dropping extent. Intensity is an audio software miracle.
