> Step by step 12. Lining up monophonic audio parts with SynchroArts VocALign

-

1 VocALign lines one bit of audio up with another, and is particularly effective with monophonic sounds. Let’s line up a picked electric guitar part. Load VocALign as an insert effect on the target track ( Dub) and select the track you want to line it up with as a sidechain source track ( Guide). Click Capture Audio and play the section you want aligned. 2 You should now have two waveforms. Click the Analyze button and you’ll get an energy-style waveform for both audio segments. Click Align and a yellow trace will indicate the suggested adjustment to the Dub. Now click Edit to actually align the Dub to the ‘ Source’. The loudspeaker icon turns green. 3 Finally, the green Synch point markers let you specify positions in the Dub that should be aligned with the Guide, even if they’re not very close. Click the area between the waveforms to create a tied pair of green icons and drag them to desired points on the Source and Dub, then rerun the Edit.
