> Step by step 15. Intelligent EQ with Newfangled Audio Elevate

-

1 Select Elevate’s Main Parameter tab, to see the key controls for the Limiter, Transient and Clipper stages, and deactivate the three Adaptive options at the bottom. Activate the Auto Output level button (top right), too, to compensate for added gain at the output, making it much easier to judge the results. 2 Now to set the basic controls. We’ve left the Ceiling at 0.1dB and the Speed at 1.00ms, but we’re increasing the Limiter Gain and watching the orange Gain Reduction meter on the right. To regain some punch, increase the Transient Emphasis control. We’ve set ours to 50%. 3 Reactivate the three Adaptive options at the bottom, and set the values to 100% for Speed and Transient, and 8.0dB for Gain. Immediately, we can hear that the mix sounds punchier and has more clarity – that’s all down to the adaptive processing. 4 We can adjust the individual bands. Click Limiter/EQ and adjust the faders. Here, we’ve cut at 8483Hz and boosted at 102 and 218Hz. Now click the Transient button and select the Draw Curve option. We’ve added a boost across the mid range from 1369 to 5416Hz.
