1 S73 is incredibly easy to use. Simply select a Style, engage the Air boost (or not) and increase the Amount control until you get the desired effect. The handy gain reduction meter gives visual feedback, and ten patches use the ten Style settings with/without the Air option. 2 Here, we’ve loaded the S73 across our master bus. With the Amount setting at 50%, a quick spin through the Style options reveals Clarity 2 as definitely the best one for the job. Now we can tweak the Amount to taste and activate the Air option for a touch more brilliance. 3 The Mix control opens Drawmer 73 up to parallel processing. This time we’ve gone for the Wide Mix Style, wound the Amount up to about 90% and added the Air effect. Overall, it’s too wide and bright, but by easing the Mix blend back to about 4 we can get what we’re after.
