“A unique blend of vintage-style recordings with modern production techniques”, Space and Time exploits the sounds of a grand piano, a hollow-body guitar and the human voice in the conjuration of 133 samples, the majority unlooped phrases. The results aren’t as madcap as the blurb suggests – we’re mostly talking melodic and harmonic snippets processed to sound ‘old’ – but those snippets are wonderfully haunting.
