Ableton Live 10.1
The first significant point release for Live 10 adds some much-requested features and – unexpectedly – two new audio effects. The awesome Wavetable synth gains the ability to import wavetables and samples, and automation has been dramatically enhanced with preset shapes that can be drawn directly into automation lanes, stretching and skewing of automation, numerical keypad input and merging of multiple breakpoints into ‘C’ and ‘S’ shapes. Tracks can now be frozen with sidechains included, single tracks and groups can be exported with return and master effects baked in, and VST3 plugin support is at last here. As for those effects, Channel EQ is a simple adaptive equaliser, and Delay puts Simple Delay and Ping Pong Delay in a single device. Not too shabby for a free update! Currently in beta, it should be out soon.
