In 1972, so they say, Eventide invented the rackmount effect module with their Instant Phaser, responsible most famously for John Bonham’s drum sound on Led Zep’s Kashmir. 47 years later, the sequel is on the way, this time as a software plugin. As with Eventide’s other recent vintage hardware emulations, Instant Phaser Mk II accurately recreates the sound of the original unit and adds new features such as oscillator sync, sidechaining and the Age knob, with which to “take your phaser on an excursion from the 70s far into the future”.
