Splitting up low and high 808 notes

-

If you’ve programmed in an 808 bassline that varies between low and high notes, you might well find that either the lows or highs don’t quite gel with the rest of your track. An easy way to get past this is to simply split your high and low notes onto separate channels. This not only allows you to easily adjust the volume of the notes for a better balance, but also lets you process the highs and lows individually with, say, equalisation.
