28.00 The final stage for Maxsta was bouncing stems out for the mix engineer, as he wasn’t confident enough in his own mixing abilities at the time. “I’d never bounced out stems from Maschine for a beat, so I think I Googled it. I bounced out my vocals, too. I sent them to a guy called JC, one of the top guys for mixing urban records right now. I knew the sound I wanted and I knew he’d mixed down grime songs. I sent it to somebody else first, but didn’t like the mix and master. He wasn’t used to mixing grime, so I felt like I had to go to someone who was – but big up the guy who tried it first!”
