No arguing a with the pricetag on R Reimund Dratwa’s fourstrong stro bundle of classic guitar guit stompbox emulations – or, indeed, the ex-Brainworx ex-B developer’s rep for impressive analogue modelling. mod Each plugin mimics mim a particular real-world pedal, the quartet comprising the El Germano Germanium-transistor distortion, Chorus-65 bucket buc brigade-based chorus, Octafish sub-octave synth, and Gate-230 Gate optical noise gate. The original designs have been added to with a few new parameters, including El Germano’s Bias and Volts knobs, and Gate-230’s Range control and activity LED; and they all sound incredible – and palpably ‘physical’. Plus, thanks to their zero-latency operation, they’re responsive enough for live play. There’s a fifth member of the group, too, in the shape of the free Big Sur.

While guitarists are, obviously, the target here, at this price we’d recommend VPB-Bundle to electronic producers too – it’s just the thing for colourful roughening, toughening and widening of synth leads, basses and drums.
