Colossus IV £72

-

This add-on library for Spectrasonics’ monumental Omnisphere 2 might just be the most expensive synth preset pack we’ve ever come across, but when you consider that it comprises a whopping 400 sounds, the pricing makes sense. The stylistic direction is epic and cinematic – inspired, they say, by the soundtracking likes of Harry Gregson-Williams and John Powell – and Colossus IV’s basses, guitars, keys, pads, textures, etc, strike a well-judged balance of musicality and grand scale. As you’d expect, every preset includes a text description and mod wheel assignment, too. Stunning. timespace.com n9/ 10n
