Software bundles of fun

An update to two major software bundles you might just not know about…

-

Software bundle makers really do understand what needs to be highlighted about their particular piles of titles: value! You know, then, that when you buy a piece of hardware by certain manufacturers and it has a ‘software bundle thrown in’ that it will probably be worth a fortune. Similarly, with a ‘best of’ bundle a la Arturia’s V-Collection or NI’s Komplete, you simply understand that you’ll save thousands over buying the titles individually.

Well, we’ve mentioned the major ones that are available, but this month we have news of two updated titles that might well have slipped under your radar. The first, Presonus’ Studio Magic 2021, is a Mac and PC bundle that goes straight for the cash jugular, delivering over a thousand bucks’ (Presonus are American, don’t you know) worth of goodies with every purchase of a Presonus product (audio interface, StudioLive Series III and ARc-series mixer, and any PreSonus FaderPort or ATOM-series hardware controller).

In this bundle you get (deep breath): Arturia Analog Lab Intro, Cherry Audio Surrealistic MG-1 Plus synth, Ghosthack Essential Sounds, UJAM Virtual Bassist, Ableton Live Lite, Brainworx’s bx_opto compressor and bx_rockrack guitar-amp, Cherry Audio Voltage Nucleus modular synth, iZotope Neutron Elements, Klanghelm SDRR2tube, KV331 Audio Synthmaster Player, Lexicon MPX-i Reverb, Mäag Audio EQ2 EQ, NI’s Replika, Output’s Movement, Plugin Alliance’s SPL Attacker Plus, UVI’s Model D piano and even some (virtual) piano lessons! Considering you can buy a bit of Presonus gear for well under a ton (UK money), that’s a great bundle.

Softube are next up with their Volume collection. Despite its singular-worded title, Volume actually contains some cracking instruments like the Monoment Bass and Parallels synths, alongside stunning software outboard from the likes of Drawmer, Summit and Trident. The latest version 5 adds a Weiss EQ MP, Marshall Cabinet Collection, Statement Lead synth and more, bringing Volume’s total worth up to nearly $3k, which makes the high $899 a little more agreeable.

Of course neither of these match the other great free software bundle in your lives, the mighty Plugin Suite, but a) how could they? and b) we would say that.
