Nektar’s new cricket bat

-

Not that we’d recommend using Nektar’s new SE61 as a cricket bat, but it certainly looks like it could be deployed as an emergency replacement, next time you find yourself ‘at the crease’ sans equipment. Anyway, the SE61 features an ‘expressive synth-action’ keybed with 61 velocity-sensitive full-size keys, two pitch and modulation wheels as well as a sustain pedal connector. There are four octave and transpose buttons that double up as DAW transport controls plus an assignable 30mm fader. Nektar have done a sterling job over the years of integrating their keyboards very well with most DAWs (and are often cited by owners as their secret controller weapons) and the SE61 is no different, promising “a powerful yet intuitive control centre”. The best bit is the price: $99.99/€99.99/£84.99 – only a bit more than a bat. Available now.
