Computer Music

It sure has a purdy interface

Phew, not quite another guitar-based plugin but an actual (sort of) guitar. Ample Sound’s Ethno Banjo (AEBJ), is a new sample-based, 3.9GB VST/AU/AAX instrument based on a Deering Sierra Banjo, a professional-grade banjo – yes, we never thought we’d write that in Computer Music – that can set you back close to 3,000 bucks in real life. AEBJ costs just $119 and is capable of some incredibly realistic results, all from a keyboard using keys switches – so much so it would have Burt Reynolds running for the hills. Or, indeed, away from them. (Watch the film Deliverance if you’re not sure what we mean by that.)
