Following the news that Apple have added Spatial Audio to their Apple Music service, they’ve also confirmed that authoring tools for the immersive standard will be coming to Logic Pro later in the year. Does this mean that we’ll all be creating ‘3D mixes’ soon?

RIP PETER ZINOVIEFF

As co-founder of EMS back in 1969, Peter Zinovieff – who has died aged 88 – was a true synth pioneer. The VCS3, his company’s y most famous instrument, was s used usedu by everyone from Pink Floyd to o The Who, and has been emulated at ted multiple times in software.

LOSSLESS LEADER

Back to Apple, and while Eddy Cue, head of Apple Music, is a big fan of Spatial Audio (see above), he’s not convinced that Lossless Audio, another of his service’s new features, is such a big deal. In fact, he admitted that he can’t actually hear the difference.
