3. Flux Mini CM’s presets

-

1

Flux Mini CM comes with a range of great presets spread over three main banks – related to the main Modulation options, Amp, Filter and Pan – plus a User Bank (see later). You can return to the main intro sound by loading in the Default option as shown. 2

For some pseudo sidechain action, turn to the Amp folder and try any of the Fakechain options which use volume modulation to simulate the pumping effects you get with sidechaining. 3

Similarly, Pumping HPF in the Filter folder gives a nice pumping effect with the low end removed, especially ‘present’ with the Sync setting at 1/4 as shown above.

4

We rather like Talk To Me as well – found in the Filter Folder. It gives you a kind of ‘wow’ rhythmic effect which, when used on the right audio, could be more vocal than it was when applied to our drum loop.

5

We like this riser effect from the Filter bank too, which takes place over four bars but which can easily be adjusted down using the Sync option.

6

Pancake Ride in the Amp folder is a good one to load to get you more jittery timing effects on your drum loops and also works well on lower Sync values.

7

Scatter from the Pan folder looks like it might be crazy but sounds remarkably restrained and also chains well as one of multiple Flux Mini CMs.

8

Finally you can easily save any good effects you come up with simply by hitting the disk icon which will automatically save your current effect into one of the spare user slots on Flux Mini CM. Happy (free) tweaking!
