Nektar’s new Impact

-

After last month’s new cricket bat – OK it was the SE61 keyboard – Nektar are on something on a roll and have now announced the new GXP range of controller keyboards, which is designed for both studio and live use. There are three keyboards in the range – 49, 61 and 88-notes – all of which have full sized, semiweighted keys with velocity and aftertouch. As you can see, they look pretty streamlined but do feature “advanced” DAW integration with transport control, track selection, volume, navigation and 14 assignable RGB buttons, and on the live front have features including a new real-time Key Repeat engine for “creating inspiring rhythmic elements”. Prices are pretty decent too: $190/€190 /£170 for the GXP49, $230/€230 /£200 for the GXP61 and $300/€300 /£265 for the GXP88, which is particularly good money for a full sized 88-note. Available now.
