An Austrian excursion

Austrian Audio are a relatively new company based in Vienna and with a lot of designers and engineers who used to work at AKG. Consequently they’ve already made quite an impact with their fabulous microphones and headphones, although they’ve not been the cheapest of products. That’s all changing with the new Hi-X15 & Hi-X25BT headphones which offer “High Excursion technology at an affordable price”. The Hi-X tech refers to the driver technology present in current AA headphones which really does (and we know this because we’ve tested them) deliver a great sound. However these two new sets are priced much lower. Hi-X15 is £89 and said to be ideal for studio recording and monitoring while Hi-X25BT ( £135) offers the same kind of listening flexibility along with the advantages of Bluetooth.
