Well how about downloading SampleScience’s French Violin plugin which they describe as “a beautiful multi-sampled violin with a lot of character and charm”. It features six articulations, a reverb, three voice modes (polyphonic, monophonic, and legato) and also claims to be CPU-friendly. It’s certainly worth a download and trial if emotional strings are your thing, and you can’t argue with the price.
