Percussion Collection

-

“This percussion collection,” says top sample producer Cyclick, “comprises 38 multisample percussion instruments collated into SFZ patches and over 200 loops made from these instruments. The acoustic percussion instruments include shakers, maracas, conga, bongos, tambourines, cowbells, guiro, cajons, djembe, finger snaps, claps, an Indian Pakhawaj, temple bells and a host of odd percussive sources. These include a gas fire, a metal pot of water, a pan, the drum from a washing machine and a bunch of keys. Whenever I record a new instrument, even a lowly egg shaker, I will, if time allows, just run off a quick set of hits so it can be used as a sample set later.

“The Electro Perc hits and loops are made from analogue synth percussion/drum sounds I have collated. These have been processed and resampled to create the sound included here. The FX Perc samples are made from the same sample roots as the Electro Perc but treated to some digital dirt and mangling.”
