Synth Gems

-

We bang on about the 80s a lot this issue and here’s a bit more for you. Bjooks have just announced Synth Gems 1, a book “celebrating vintage synthesizers and the people who created them”. It obviously cover a lot of models released back in the 80s but if that’s not enough for you, it has a forward written by synth god and pop lord Vince Clarke. The book is called ‘1’ as it opens in 1970 with a feature on the Minimoog and closes in 2000 with the (marvellous) Alesis Andromeda, so expect a Part 2 one day soon. And a Part 33 in 2050. It costs a fairly hefty $69.95/€59,95 but looks pretty impressive. Review next issue.
