“Gimme all ya got, KIT!”

-

We love a good emulation here at Computer Music; of course we do, as half of the plugins we get sent to review are emulations of something or other: classic synths here, vintage effects there. But when we get news of an emulation of a specific console, that is a one off, it’s an intriguing story. Why would you emulate one specific thing?

Well, Nashville-based developer KIT Plugins have teamed up with iconic studio

Blackbird to release the first-ever emulation of the rare Neve analogue console in Blackbird’s legendary Studio A. It’s a recreation of the console’s channel strip and features all of the features that gave this specific console its sound. So why’s it so good? The console was originally built in the 70s and has since had a “series of modifications from some of the best minds in the audio industry”, which isn’t giving too many details away but we’ll take it as truth and besides, the plugin will give you its sound for just 99 bucks, which seems good value to us. Or go to Nashville, hire the studio and get its sounds on your productions that way, OK?
