Editing and effects

-

One contention with all UVI instruments is that they’re sample based; in some cases, sampling of analogue classics can feel less effective, but given the initial content is also sample based, this package works beautifully. There’s a plentiful supply of editing available, for all your more usual tweaking needs, but unlike the originals, a comprehensive set of backend effects really bolsters the production-ready status of the sounds. With reverb, delay, EQ, distortion and more, if you don’t have it in your DAW, you’ll likely have what you need here. Emulations II+ runs within UVI’s own (free) Workstation software, which we’ve found to be simple, and reliable. It’ll also feed the excellent Falcon synth package, but there’s something very useable about its simpler Workstation form which we like. Of course, many sounds are overtly 80s-biased, and while there’s plenty of scope to move beyond that decade, it’s a point of consideration as a purchase.
