More vintage vibes from SSL with X-Echo

-

Following the mighty 10/10 review of their Fusion Vintage Drive and Fusion Stereo Image plugins in last month’s Computer Music, SSL have announced the X-Echo native plugin. It includes tape-style signal degradation and soft compression with “classic SSL-style distortion characteristics”.

X-Echo is “inspired by the distinctive sound of early tape delay hardware of the 1960s and 1970s” but also capable of lots of contemporary sounds. You therefore get classic slap back and swirling tape delay echo effects alongside more modern effects, thanks to extra stereo width, diffusion and filtering options.

X-Echo is one more release in what could be a vast range of SSL plugins as the UK company bolsters its online shop. And with each release, the company’s subscription model looks that bit tastier with this SSL Complete Bundle Subscription coming in at $14.99 per/month while each plugin, X-Echo included, costs $199.
