The Cyclick folder contains loops split across five categories: Basslines, Basslines FX, High Arps, One-Note Sweeps and One-Note Sweeps FX. The sounds were created using a Novation Bass Station – specifically its TB-303impersonating preset – funnelled through a chain of rack gear and guitar pedals. 2

In the Groove Criminals >> Loops folder, you’ll find a range of acidic loops and arps spanning tempos of 110130bpm. As you’d expect, many feature flavoursome distortion for that signature ‘acid’ sound, while others are left clean for you to apply your own drive. 3

The Groove Criminals >> One-Shots folder is packed with 40 short blips and clicks, all exhibiting a resonant ‘chirping’ timbre synonymous with acid. Try using these as percussive elements in a beat; or sequence a 16th-note pattern, then filter and distort to taste.
