Groove Criminals – trap, house and DnB
Oli Bell from Groove Criminals details his hat-trick of track builder sample packs…
“We split ourselves between three quite different styles this month with trap, house and DnB in our sights to produce three packs of samples that can be matched together so you can produce music in no time (even using our free Ableton Live 11 Lite DAW offer should you wish!). All the synth and bass loops were a combination of softsynths (Logic’s Alchemy and Native Instruments Massive among others) with our beloved Access Virus B and Moog Mother 32 mixed in occasionally for some hands-on tweaking and layering.
“All of the beats in each pack were programmed in-the-box using NI’s Battery with hits taken from our frankly stupidly huge bank of drum sounds but also from the TR-8 and Air Base 99 (which knocks out some truly solid analogue kicks and snares in the 909/808 style). We also used an AudioThings Texture granular reverb quite a bit to give some lovely texture (doh) and to add extra character to some of the synth loops.”
