Gaining ground

There’s always a concern, when using these sorts of level-taming plugins while still actively working on a mix, that specific peak levels that you manually create, say when adding a node in Reso, will be affected if the input gain changes. But, don’t worry, Mastering the Mix are well aware of the potential problems this might cause.

Helpfully, they have added a Link button which cleverly adjusts the output gain deepening on the input gain coming in to the plugin, or that you manually set yourself. It’s very handy, but it’s probably best to let your ears do the work here, as the slightest bit of overkill can undo a lot of hard work!
