U-HE BAZILLE CM
Another amazing u-he synth gets updated. Here’s how to get the latest (incredible) Bazille CM up and running
As Computer Music readers, you really know your synths. So, when we gave away the all-new Zebra CM synth – one especially created for us by plugin masters u-he – four months ago, we thought you might like it. But we didn’t expect the response we got and it is now the most downloaded plugin from the mighty Plugin Suite ever!
And where Zebra CM can now easily be regarded as the best free synth out there (well, ‘free’ in the sense that it comes free with this magazine!), this latest Bazille CM update can be seen as the most powerful. Between the two, you now have all of your synth needs sorted!
Bazille CM is based on the full Bazille, widely regarded as one of the best modular synths in software, and a whole lot more besides. There are plenty of modules to connect up, two very flexible oscillators, a six-mode filter, loads of modulation, a tape delay and a stack of presets.
This all-new update is the first made to Bazille CM in six years and while it might not be as dramatic as that for Zebra, it still features workflow enhancements, more presets, better GUI performance, support for Silicon M1 chips and Big Sur compatibility (so it should run well on the latest Macs), plus VST3 support and many other small fixes.
In this tutorial we’ll show you how to get it up and running and the basics of patch creation. But as it’s such a detailed synth we’ll also throw in a PDF (at File Silo) from the original giveaway which shows you how to go very deep with it. And, of course, if you like it, then do consider upgrading to the mega synth that is the full Bazille! More details are at u-he.com.
