Tip number 1. “Make a backup.” Yes, Mousse T. says this in the main text and on video, but you really can’t dish this piece of advice out too many times!

The bassline was created first, using Reveal Sound’s excellent Spire softsynth, a favourite around these parts.

2

There are some great vocals on the track for Mousse T. to work with but then he stumbled across a small vocal part which set him on course for his remix.

5

Mousse programmed a simple but effective bass riff using just four notes. Less is more, as they say.

3

Mousse decided to then do a remix in the vein of Robin S’ Show Me Love which meant “kick ass beats and bassline”, so he went about creating just that.

6

He then used the Slate Digital Virtual Tape Machines plugin, which he uses a lot on digital keys, “on the highs and lows to make it a little warmer”.
