The ODD Ball gang

It’s possible to use multiple ODD Balls together, assigning different messages and actions to each one. We only had one available for our review, but we want to try this some time – it’d really open up more creative opportunities, and some very interesting educational possibilities. A bunch of these bouncing around in a confined space, like some crazy kind of MIDI ball pit, in different colours, could be incredibly entertaining, as well as creating some interesting sound action, although the potential for breakages increases exponentially! We wonder if the ODD Ball could be slightly smaller, or if the current size is necessary for technical reasons; golf ballsize might be ideal for swarm use. As far as MIDI goes, up to 16 balls could be used at once, on different channels, although the Bluetooth standard supports only seven connected devices. It’s time to draft in some extra computers.
