A noise does not annoy!

-

Noise is a curious thing! Ever since the digitisation of audio, at least from the moment the concept went mainstream, it didn’t take very long for musicians and the public at large to complain that digital audio just sounded too… digital! To be fair, in those early days, much of this was down to the presence of early digital to analogue convertors, which vastly improved in latter years. Lest we forget, the CD format was locked off at a mere 44.kHz and 16 bits. Things have moved on, and while it’s accepted that any half-decent audio interface will sound sublime, there has been a sizeable calling for noise and ambience to find its way back into music. This could be as simple as a humming guitar amp, or hiss from a tape. You’ll even find synth plugins which can bring back the noise of vintage circuitry. This is where Noises is something of a boon; it’s bringing back the noise, but in a somewhat musical capacity!
