All-new future sounds
It’s an A.I. theme, so what better to maintain that theme than two all-new packs of futuristic and sc-fi samples? Get them at filesilo.co.uk or WeTransfer
Cyclick Futuristics
As we tackle the heady subject of A.I. in our cover feature, there really is only one theme for our all-new sample packs: the future! Robbie from Cyclick Samples put together this first dystopian set…
“Who knows what the future will hold, but there is one thing of which we can be certain: it will be futuristic. With this profound thought in mind let’s break down what’s in this sample pack.
“AlienTech [One Shots] The source is a synth programmed in a non- musical way. A general umbrella under which an array of odd, non-earthly sounds gather.
“Atmos [One Shots] A selection of nonlooped atmospheric sounds, with no transients or distinct elements.
“NewWorldAtmos [Loops] Looped sounds originating from the process started with the Atmos samples. Any oscillators are rendered non-musical with heavy processing and synth modulation plus lashings of reverb, delay, pitch shifting and filtering.
“OffWorld [One Shots] Less ‘alien’, but not sounds originating on Earth… at least, not in a futuristic/sci-fi sense.
“SciFi-FX [One Shots] One-shot samples that cover variations on the laser gun/ beam sound. ‘Beeeooowwww’… ”
There’s more detail in Rob’s PDF in the samples folder.

Oli Bell from Groove Criminals has also been busy in his time machine and gathered this set of sounds from the future:
“We tried to mix between classic sci-fi/futuristic sounds and Foley-based. With the classics we broke out the analogue synths with a S&H mod source (SH-101, SH-09 ,CS5, Wasp) and applied that to pitch and filter for some 1977 droid burps and pharts. Zaps and lasers came from the same synths and any whose filters would self resonate like the Korg Monotron.
“The star ship sounds are from feeding raw synth or foley sounds into Audition and using Doppler, with light delay, modulation and tremolo.
“For atmospheric drones we used the Dementia DM1, a two oscillator drone synth with noise. It can be unruly so we ran it through the Moogerfooger LPF to control some high frequencies. We also modulated a couple of the LPF controls using some external CV.”
