Professor Brian Cox – A Journey into Deep Space LATERAL EVENTS

August, 2016 at various venues in Australia.

OUR STILL HUMBLE UNDERSTANDING of the Universe has seen more than a few breakthroughs over the last decade.

We’ve seen Higgs particles observed at the Large Hadron Collider and gravitational waves detected by LIGO. And even though the observable Universe was smaller than the size of an atom 13.8 billion years, we know it’s now expanding at accelerating rates – all at astronomical scales that are hard to comprehend.

This August, let physicist Brian Cox guide you on a trek through this Universe, which he admits “is turning out to be stranger and more fascinating than we could have imagined”.

On his third Australian tour with Lateral Events, Brian Cox will delve into the recent scientific discoveries made by CERN and astronomical observatories around the world.

Pondering questions surrounding dark matter, life’s origins and the time before the Big Bang, Cox will explore not only what we know and don’t know about the Universe, but also how we’ve come to know it.

Brian Cox’s unique talent for making complex concepts both accessible and entertaining is guaranteed to captivate audiences.

To serve up an extra dollop of humour, British comedian Robin Ince – Cox’s co-host on the BBC Radio 4 series The Infinite Monkey Cage – will be joining the physicist on stage.

And if you feel like splurging on a VIP ticket, you can have a chat to Brian Cox about, allegedly, absolutely anything over refreshments in the intimate setting of the “Afterlife Club” after the show.
