61, decided to set up an electric vehicle charging point at his B&B to assist other EV users in St Margaret’s Hope, on the remote island of South Ronaldsey off Scotland’s northern tip. Isolated and battered by high winds and rough seas, the Orkneys produce so much electricity from wind and tidal generators that the excess is exported to mainland Scotland. “We are waiting to have a Tesla Powerwall installed – to hopefully assist us in becoming selfsufficient in the power that we use and provide to fellow EV users,” Mick says.
