The yarding was smaller this week, however the market was one of the dearest seen.

Competitio­n was excellent among the buyers, resulting in another solid sale.

Bullocks reached a top of $3.30/kg, remaining solid.

Trade cattle made to a top of $3.90/kg and vealers made a top of $4.46/kg, which was a record price for the saleyards.

Cows once again made to a top of $3.10/kg for the heavier cleaner cows, holding firm to 8¢ dearer.

QUOTES: Heavy steers over 500 kg sold to $3.30; medium to heavy steers 450-500 kg sold to $3.90; steer veal heavy over 400 kg sold to $4.45; steer veal medium 320-390 kg sold to $4.43; heifer veal 420-490 kg sold to $4.46; heifer veal 320-390 kg sold to $4.40; cows sold to $3.10.
