BLOGGER, 36

Founder of travel and lifestyle blog, The Vista, Julia lives in a farmhouse in northern NSW with her husband and daughter. Tell us about your connection to the country and how your style has changed since returning to your roots. I was born and raised on a farming property just outside Lennox Head. It was the best upbringing I could ask for and I think it was a shock for everyone when I moved to Sydney then onto New York. After more than 10 years travelling, I met my husband Matterson. We got married and fell pregnant with Delilah Bee. That’s when we made the swift move ‘home’ to northern NSW to find a generous plot of land for the vegetable patch of our dreams. Since then, the blazers, leather pants and heels have been banished. I love to dress up, but my style is much more casual chic these days. What are some of your go-to brands? Denim shorts from One Teaspoon, Doen everything, All That Remains for linen shirts and Sir the Label for linen wrap dresses, which I layer with T-shirts. My favourite denim flares are from Lover and I like the crocheted bikinis in pretty, feminine colourways from She Made Me. What’s on your winter wardrobe wish list? My own Driza-bone (I always borrow Matterson’s, who is 6’5 so it’s rather oversized). And a turtleneck knit so soft I can live in it. Do you have a style trick that makes you feel instantly more put together? Bandanas! I love a good scarf around my neck or bun. Any other favourite accessories? A good hat — the bigger, the better. I always seem to pick up a new one everywhere I go. I’m also a fan of Tom Ford cat’s eye sunglasses. What’s your shoe of choice for work and play? I have owned a pair of R.M. Williams boots since I was old enough to wear shoes. What cosmetics products do you love? I prefer oils and natural products on my skin. Tinted moisturiser with SPF is my everyday go-to and Le Labo perfumes are exquisite . What do you like to surround yourself with at home? Jedda-daisy Culley is my artist crush at the moment. She’s a dear friend and I’m lucky to have her work in my home. I also adore ceramics from Pan Pottery. What’s your best fashion advice? Be yourself! Hold on to the classics you love that make you feel comfortable and confident. Visit followthevista.com
