The Hunter Valley cactus garden of painter Philip Drummond, who focuses on Australian native plants in his still-life pieces, is an artwork in its own right.

Traditional Japanese landscape design inspired the gentle curves of this cactus garden’s winding path. The dog sculpture was a gift from interior designer George Freedman. FACING PAGE Philip Drummond’s work references the golden era of Spanish still-life paintings.
