DANIELLA GERMAIN

Our favourite illustrator used watercolour paints and fine ink pens to create the map of New Norfolk for On the Move on page 56. Although she’s based in Melbourne, Daniella is well qualified to work for Country Style — she grew up in Queensland’s Townsville and loves dogs (pictured with her are labradoodle Ruby and German short-haired pointer Mac). Daniella’s beautiful illustrations have graced our pages for seven years and she says the Country Style colouring-in books are among her favourite jobs. “I’d love to live in the country one day, so illustrating country things brings me joy,” says Daniella. And does she enjoy creating the maps for On the Move? “It’s fun getting to know little towns around Australia. When I draw the maps, it’s almost like taking a trip there in my mind. It’s quite relaxing!”
