The top-end houses sit at around $1.2 million, which buys you a substantial home on a 2000 square-metre block,” says Peter Druitt, director of Peter Druitt & Co.

MARKET WATCH “Small rural holdings close to town, from two to 25 hectares, start at $1 million, with the top end getting close to $2 million in a good location. A bare block close to town is from $300,000 to $700,000, but they’re becoming scarce,” Peter adds.
