LONGITUDE 131°

“This is definitely a bucket-list destination.”

YULARA, NT

This is definitely a bucket-list destination with a difference. Longitude 131°’s luxury tents in the middle of the outback are the ultimate glamping experience. Think king-sized beds, adjoining ensuites with rain showers, comfortable lounge areas and generous decks. The star attractions however, can be seen outside: the broad expanse of sky, the ever-changing light, the red-dirt landscape and, of course, Uluru, standing majestically in the distance. Accommodation is also available in Longitude 131°’s Dune Pavilion — the only place in Australia to offer breathtaking views of both Uluru and Kata Tjuta (the Olgas). This option can sleep four to five guests and offers separate living and sleeping areas and a plunge pool. The resort’s base lodge also has a pool, as well as a restaurant, bar and large terrace, and the striking curved, red-roofed building is home to the day spa. Although you could while away your stay without venturing further afield, Longitude 131° is an ideal base to explore some of what the outback has on offer.
