QUEEN VICTORIA MUSEUM AND ART GALLERY
Australia’s largest regional museum, QVMAG is split across two sites in central Launceston. For an insight into Tasmania’s European history, the Queen Victoria Art Gallery at Royal Park has a permanent collection of Australian landscape and portrait art by colonial painters such as John Glover and Henry Dowling. Look out for a number of touring exhibitions by contemporary artists, including multimedia artist Raquel Ormella, and Jasperware, a display of innovative ceramics developed by master potter Josiah Wedgwood in the 1770s. 2 Wellington Street, Launceston, Tasmania.
