SHOE DESIGNER, MANUFACTURER AND IMPORTER AT MILLWOODS SHOES, AND MOTHER OF THREE, 38

Jane lives with her husband, Andrew, children James, seven, Phoebe, five, Willa, three, and their six dogs on a sheep and wheat farm outside Coolamon, NSW.

What do you love about living in the country? I grew up in Gunnedah, NSW, and call Tamworth home, because I went to high school there and my parents live there. I’ve done my time in Sydney and Melbourne, but always loved being in the country. I wasn’t really at peace till it was peaceful around me. I remember waking up in Sydney one day and knowing it was time to move back home.

How would you describe your style? Classic everyday style. I’d like to think it’s effortless, but it never feels that way!

Are you interested in fashion? I am, but feel that a classic wardrobe serves me well and always has my back. I have very few pieces that are fashion-forward.

Who are your style influences? Strong, contemporary country women. I could say someone like Audrey Hepburn, who did have the most effortless style, but really, I have beautiful, well-dressed, successful women around me each day.

What’s the best style advice you’ve ever received?

Buy quality and always dress a little understated.

What are your wardrobe essentials? Jeans and tailored shirts. I would wear a shirt rather than a T-shirt any day.

What are your favourite clothing labels? A large portion of my wardrobe is dedicated to Binny. But I am finding other amazing Australian brands as I search for photoshoot outfits and style.

Where do you shop for clothing and accessories? I have a couple of favourites: Texas Jane in Wagga Wagga and The Herd in Scone. Both have the most beautiful owners who spend time making sure you leave with a purchase that is just right for you.

What are your essential beauty products? Tinted sun cream, lip balm and mascara. And my Estée Lauder Double Wear Lipstick in Stay Pink.

Do you have a favourite fragrance? Estée Lauder Private Collection Tuberose Gardenia. My husband bought it for me for our wedding and I love it.

Do you have any favourite accessories? Handbags and shoes. You only need a few to set an outfit up and transform a look. Oh, and blazers – I have a few!

What are you reading and watching? I’ve been watching Zoey’s Extraordinary Playlist with my son. My favourite book of late is The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo.

Where are your favourite local spots to eat? The Station Collective in Coolamon. In Wagga, Meccanico or the Fitz Café. If we’re going north to see my parents, the Sir George at Jugiong is always a favourite.
