GEORGIE MANN

Based in Caramut, Vic, photographer Georgie captured beautiful images of Anna Brand, founder of The Woolly Brand, for this month’s Women on the Land feature. For more, turn to page 40.

“Growing up in the country gave me a real sense of self. It has also given me a huge appreciation for the natural world,” Georgie, 45, says. “It’s been a wonderful place to raise a family – lots of animals, wide open spaces and time spent together.” Georgie now lives in Western Victoria with her husband Bobby, 53, children Dougal, 18, Olivia, 16, and Jack 13, and their Jack Russell terriers. “I have felt a love affair with country Australia for as long as I can remember. I love the space, the landscapes and lifestyle. My mind is constantly blown by the beauty of rural Australia. I love sharing this through my lens.”

STEPHANIE HOPE

Country Style writer Stephanie enjoys transforming people’s stories into words – a “privilege” that is never lost on her. In this issue, read her Journey travel story on page 122.

Stephanie, 42, hails from Sydney with her husband Matt, 46, and children Mitchell, 10, and Jamie, six. A writer for over 21 years, Stephanie grew up on Sydney’s Northern Beaches but says there’s a certain kind of tranquillity that can only be achieved in the country. “I’m overdue for a trip out to my brother-in-law’s farm in Merriwa,” she says. “Going back to basics and switching off for just a few days is the perfect antidote to the hectic pace of daily life.” Steph says writing is a constant source of inspiration: “I love that

Country Style shines a light on rural Australia and the people who are thriving on the land.”
