Quick-fixes drain coffers

Countryman - - OPINION | HAVE YOUR SAY - Daryl Binning, Winthrop

The true calibre of Premier Mark McGowan and his ministers can be gauged by their decision not to spend a comparative pittance on retaining rural colleges and school camps.

These will be of immense benefit to current and future generations.

Meanwhile, they squander untold millions on the temporary Fremantle freight-fix fiasco with no long-term value to the community.

In their scramble to save face in the wake of ill-advised election promises, knee-jerk illogical and expensive quick-fixes continue to drain the economy.
