Last week, the Grain Pro­duc­ers Aus­tralia na­tional grains meet­ing, held in Syd­ney, was at­tended by rep­re­sen­ta­tives from most State farm­ing or­gan­i­sa­tions in Aus­tralia, in­clud­ing WAFarm­ers grains sec­tion pres­i­dent Dun­can Young and ex­ec­u­tive of­fi­cer Mad­di­son Mc­Neil.

Key is­sues dis­cussed in­cluded na­tional dis­cus­sions on grains stocks re­port­ing and har­vest re­ceival in­for­ma­tion re­port­ing; the progress with the con­sol­i­da­tion of in­dus­try good func­tions; the Depart­ment of Agri­cul­ture and Wa­ter Re­sources and Aus­tralian Com­pe­ti­tion and Con­sumer Com­mis­sion in­quiries into the bulk wheat port re­port­ing and the ACCC in­ter­est in the sup­ply chain; canola seed avail­abil­ity and pro­duc­tion is­sues; the na­tional heavy ve­hi­cle reg­u­la­tor; and spray drift con­tam­i­na­tion.
